In case it is interesting to anyone, I have used dual IONIs to retrofit glass scale feedback linear motors into my little CNC mill. I just upgraded firmwares ( the old firmware was almost a year old), and I do seem to get much smoother phasing. Not sure if that is due to the floating point or not….
